It is with profound sorrow and thanksgiving to God that we announce the passing of Mzee Peter Munene Kiruku, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, 28th August 2026, at the age of 96.
He was the loving husband of the late Loise Wairimu Munene and the late Elizabeth Mwara Munene.
He was the son of the late Kiruku Manguru and the late Maria Ngendo.
Devoted father of Kiruku Peter Munene (Ngong), the late Patricia Ngendo Munene, Anne Shiko Naimasia (Olooula), Ambrose Gichanga Munene, Jane Wambui Munene (Mzurrie Flowers), Grace Gathoni Pere (Nkaimurunya Primary), Esther Nyokabi Munene (National Registration Bureau Mashuuru), Catherine Munene (St. Louis, Missouri USA) and Esther Wairimu Munene (Ongata Rongai Referral Hospital).
Father-in-law of Benson Naimasia, Francis Pere (former Sub-County admin), the late Thomas Ndiraungu (Veterinary doctor), James Maina Mwaura (St. Louis, Missouri USA), Nancy Kiruku and Monicah Naisenya Gichanga (Sub-County adult education officer).
Mzee Peter was a much-loved grandfather of Munene, Kaka, Grace, Robin, Karanja, Nduta, Alvin, Shiko and Karen, among others, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are meeting at his home in Olooula, Ngong, for funeral arrangements.
The cortege will leave the Ngong Sub-County Morgue for service at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Cathedral on Tuesday 8th September 2026 and thereafter burial at his residence in Olooula, Ngong.
