It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing on of Mama Sophia Lodzenja Misigo, which occurred on 25th August 2026 following a short illness at the Aga Khan Hospital – Kisumu.

Daughter of the late Enoch Kasigane and Elizabeth Kisia.

Sister of Ezina, the late Daina, Esther, Dina, Hezron, Japheth, Kezia, late Solomon, Jastone, Francis, Saphan, Resper and Norah.

She was a beloved wife of the late David Misigo Edebe.

Loving mother of the late Jane Katumika, Betty Vulimu, Linet Mugusi, Ebby Almasi, Alice Kanaya, Judith Misigo, Geoffrey Misigo, Evalyne Indusa, Nebert Aradi, Lillian Omollo.

Grandmother of Phaustine, Jumba, Morris, Steve, Vitalis, Henry, Mercy, Wilfred, Clara, Lydia, Yvonne, Laura, Kevin, Vincent, Rodgers, Brian, Usama, Mlole, Warda, Mark, Sharon, Luther, Melvyn, Collins, Cynthia, Issah, Edesh, Ivy, Cedric, Nicole, Stephanie, Michelle, Lincoln, Lindsay, Laurel and Lance.

Great-grandmother to 58 boys and girls.

A fundraiser will be held on 8th September 2026 at Sophia’s Busweta residence starting from 10:00 a.m.

Funeral service will take place at Busweta Primary School on 12th September 2026 starting from 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at her home in Busweta Village, Kedoli Sub Location, Busali East Location, Sabatia Constituency, Vihiga County.
