It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Ephantus Gachoka Kanyi, who departed this life on 8th July 2026 while receiving treatment at Meridian Equator Hospital, Nairobi.
He was the beloved son of the late Kanyi Gachigua and the late Florence Wanjiru Kanyi, and the loving husband of the late Mary Gathigia Muthoni Gachoka. He was son-in-law of the late Nahashon Mwai and the late Zipporah Ngima.
He was a devoted father of Peter Mwai, Kanyi Gachoka & Jillvian Wambui, Suzanne Wanjiru Gachoka, and Eric Kanyi.
He was a dear brother of the late Grace Wanjiku Raing’o, the Late Robert Chege, the late Ephraim Wachira, the late Julius Thiga, and Lillies Njeri. He was a proud and loving grandfather of Gachoka Ndung’u Kanyi, Muthoni Kanyi, Wanjiru Kanyi, Jaimie Kanyi, Pamela Muthoni Mwai, Eric Mureithi Mwai and Blessing Wakini Mwai. He was also a cherished uncle, relative, and friend to many.
Family prayers and meetings will be held at All Saints Cathedral on Monday, 13th July 2026 and Tuesday, 14th July 2026 commencing at 5:30 p.m.
The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Kabati, on Friday, 17th July 2026, at 7:00 a.m., for the funeral service at Sasini Airstrip, Mweiga, commencing at 11:00 a.m. Thereafter, the cortege will proceed to his home in Mweiga, where he will be laid to rest.
