It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the family announces the passing on of Elder Geoffrey Nyamweya Basweti of Nakuru West SDA Church, Obwari village, Riamakanda Sub-Location, Masaba North, which occurred on 28th June 2026 at Annex Hospital, Nakuru, after a long illness.
Son of the late Basweti Mochobe and the late Mama Anna Kemunto.
Son-in-law of the late Absalom Masagara and the late Agnes Kenanda. Loving husband of Jane Akeri Nyamweya.
Beloved father of Richard Sereti, Leila Kemuma, Nelly Nyaboke, Lilian Moraa, Dr. Diana Bosibori, Daniel Basweti and father in-law of Rafiq Mohamed, Dr. Peter Mogeni, Dr. David Ogega, and Purity Kerubo.
Doting grandfather of Bilal, Khadija, Kayleen, Jesse, Luther, Gabby, Alvin, Emmanuel, Harun, Jeanne, Eldad and Nayah.

He was Cousin of Isaac Ratemo, the late Andrew Osoro, John Mbegera, Daudi Osoro, Getii, Nyabete, Arasa, Motanya, Sansora, Nyachae Tomera, Oiruri and others.

The body shall leave Umash funeral home, Nakuru on 16th July 2026 at 3pm for a vigil night at the family home in Ngata Bridge, Nakuru.
The burial will be held on 17th July 2026 at the same venue, Ngata Bridge.
