It is with profound grief that we would like to announce the unexpected death of Rachel Edith Akuku Sanya on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, in Migori.
Rachel was daughter of the late Stanley Oduri Sanya and the late Florence Margaret Ayiemba Sanya.
Rachel was the beloved mother of Emmanuel Ouko and Stanley Sanya.
Mother-in-law of Gladys and grandmother of Imani Buyanzi Sanya.
Sister of Maureen Nafwa, Laura Sanya, Linda Sanya, Michael Sanya, and Leslie Sanya.
Sister-in-law of Victor, Zipporah, Allan, and Eloy.
Auntie of Terry, Ronnie, Jaden, Susan, Lolita, Tanaissa, Jacob, Joshua, Zachary, Faraji, and Eliya.
Rachel was loved and appreciated by her family, friends, and colleagues. She will be deeply missed.
Family and friends will be meeting at All Saints Cathedral for prayers on August 10th (5:00 – 6:30 p.m.), and August 11th (5:00 – 8:00 p.m.).
There will be a celebration of life service at All Saints Cathedral on Wednesday, August 12th at 12:00 p.m. in Memory of Rachel.
The funeral and burial service will be held in Kendu Bay on Thursday, August 13th 2026 from 12:00 p.m.
