MAMA RACHEAL NAKHUMICHA KITUYI

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of Mama Racheal Nakhumicha Kituyi, which occurred on 20th June 2026.

Mama Racheal was the beloved wife of the late Dickson Daniel Kituyi Kanisio of Sichei-Nambaya Village, Bungoma County. She was the loving mother of George Welemba, the late Margaret Murunga, Mary Maruti, the late Dourice Machuma Ofisi, Lucia Naliaka, Peter Wayongo, Susan Nasaba, Carol Wanyonyi, Jennifer Waswa, Wambaya Kituyi, the late Elizabeth Namkhosi and Carolyne Kituyi Flemming.

Daughter of the late Paulo Wanjala (Lugongo Omusaba) and the late Delila Nelima (Omusomi) of Namwela, Chwele, Bungoma County.

Sister of the late Mwalimu Noah Simiyu, the late Mwalimu Justus Simiyu, the late Selina Kituyi, Eng. Zakaria Wanjala, the late Wycliffe Kuloba, Mwalimu Margaret Nabangala, Mwalimu Samson Lusulayi, Keziah Nabalayo, the late Johnstone Wanyama, the late Joash Mangoli, the late Josec, Samuel Wangwe, the late George Makanda, the late Eliud Barasa and the late Salimo.

She was a cherished cousin of Maayi Rispah Makanda, the late Damaris Naliaka, Rtd. Major George Makanda, the late Hon. Joseph Muliro, Hon. Festus Wasilwa, Hon. John Nandasaba, the late Nora Musundi, the late Timona Wasilwa, the late Lena Muliro, the late Rose Mudavadi, Grace Kuto, Elizabeth Bwayo, the late George Wekhyu, Amos Wekhyu, among many others. She was a beloved daughter-in-law.

Sister-in-law, aunt and relatives of Nganga, Wapangana, Mukhwana, Nakali, Siboko, Lazaro, Nyongesa and many others.

She was a loving mother-in-law of the late Phillip Ofisi, Mwalimu Godfrey Wasike, Agatha Wayongo, the late Hon. Ambrose Waswa, Dr. Charles Wanyonyi, Hon. Waningilo Walubengo, Elizabeth Masaku, Tabitha Musyimi and Dr. Violet Muyoka among others.

She was a devoted grandmother of CS Dr. Debora Barasa, Hon. Brenda Ofisi, Hon. Evans Kakai, Diana Kitui, Melvin Rupia, Charity Wafula, Cedric, Maureen, Faith, Phillip, Mitchell, Mellisa, Lindcy, Oliver, Celestine, Martin, Matayo, Murunga, Maua, Brian Musenchule, Shirley, Sandra, Nicole, Chelsea, Toto, Regina, Eric, Paulo, Mathew, Daisy, Nathan, Imani, Ethan, Eunice, Sara, Christine, Gloria, Collins, Patience, the late Dorothy Mutenyo, the late Bramwel, Lukelesia, the late Wanjala, Elizabeth, Anthony, the late Isaac, Nancy and Veronica, together with many great-grandchildren. Aunty of Rt Hon. Moses wetangula speaker National Assembly, Hon. Tim Wanyonyi Wetangula, Hon. John Chikati, Hon. Harriet Chigga, Hon. Chris Wamalwa Ps Juma Mukhwana, Beverly Opwora EBS (PAS), Hon. Tim Chikati, Hon Luke Opwora, Dr. Nancy Barasa among many.

A requiem mass will be held on Wednesday, 1st July 2026, at Holy Family Basilica, Nairobi, beginning at 1.00 p.m.

Thereafter, a fundraising meeting will be held at All Saints’ Cathedral Hall, Nairobi, from 4.00 p.m.

A parallel fundraising meeting will be held at Sichei Nambaya Village from 9.00 a.m.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Friday, 3rd July 2026, for her home in Sichei Nambaya Village, Chwele, Bungoma County, for an overnight vigil.

The funeral service and interment will take place on Saturday, 4th July 2026, at her home in Sichei Nambaya Village, Chwele, Bungoma County.
