It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the family and friends announce the promotion to Glory of Njau Waira (WaKamau), who rested peacefully in the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

He was the loving husband of Hannah Waruguru.

Devoted father to Julius Mugweru (Kenya), Sascha Waira (USA) and Tasha Wathaiya (USA).

Loving brother and brother-in-law to Damaris Gatugi (USA), Mwaura Waira (formerly of USA), and many other relatives in Kenya.

Cousin to Waruiru Njau, Kangara Njau and Florence Njoki (USA).

Uncle and grandfather to many.

Njau Waira will be remembered as one of the pillars of the Kenyan community in Atlanta, Georgia. His passing leaves a deep void in the family and the wider community.

Prayer meetings will be held at KACC Sanctuary – Upstairs, 771 Elberta Drive, Marietta, GA 30066 on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, September 2, 2026 — 6:30 p.m.
  • Friday, September 4, 2026 — 6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 6, 2026 — 5:00 p.m.
