It is with deep sorrow, yet in humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the passing of Mr Joel Muthama Makau, who was called to glory on 31st August 2026 following a sudden illness.
Joel was the son of the late Makau Munyao, the late Agnes Mukethe, and the late Alice Kataa.
Brother of the late Peter Nzioka, the late Patrick Katwa, the late Richard Nzangi, Hannington Wambua, Francisca Tabitha Mbithe, the late Japheth Kiting’u, and the late Nditiya Nzula.
He was a devoted husband of Phoebe Syomiti Muthama and a loving father of Margaret Njoroge (Canada), Josephine Muthama, George Muthama (USA), and Georgina Davidson (South Africa).
Father-in-law of Edward Njoroge (Canada), the late Raphael Mamboleo, Nancy Mbilu (USA), and Ndy Davidson (South Africa).
Grandfather of David Njoroge (Canada), Phoebe Katsidzira and Leon Katsidzira (South Africa), Joel Muthama and Carina Muthama (USA), Lynette Zawadi (USA), Joshua Njoroge (Canada), Avia Muthama (USA), and Matilda Naima.
Great-grandfather of Ezra Muthama (USA), Adashe Katsidzira (South Africa), and Maliyah Muthama (USA).
He was also a loving husband of Elizabeth Nashipai Muthama and a caring stepfather to Tijara Nairesai, Sylvia Nampaso, Ian Sankale, and Ryan Simale.
He was an Insurance professional who worked in the UK and Kenya to retirement.
The funeral service and burial will be on September 11th 2026, at his home in Kiboko, Makueni County starting at 10:00 a.m.
