It is with great sorrow that we announce the promotion to glory of Lilian Wangui Mathenge of JKUAT on Thursday 27th August 2026.
She was mother of Eva Muthoni and Dan Mathenge.
She was daughter of Simon Mathenge Wagema and Rose Wathika Mathenge.
Sister of Michael & Alice Wagema Mathenge (USA), Janet Wanjira Mathenge, Timothy & Monica Muchungi (USA) and Margaret Njoki & Sammy Wachira Muchiri.
Doting aunt of Simon (Mudede), Kayla, Mercy Grace, Sam, Liam, Ayden, Amani and Maya.
Treasured niece and cousin to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily at her family home in Kaheti, Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri from 3:00 p.m.
There will be a Memorial Service at JKUAT – Main Campus Juja on Friday 4th September 2026 from 10:00 a.m.
The cortege leaves Jamii Hospital Funeral Home in Karatina on Tuesday 8th September 2026 at 9:00 a.m. for Funeral Service at Our Lady of Good Counsel Kaheti Parish (Kaheti Catholic Church) starting from 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place the same day at their home in Kaheti in the afternoon.
