
With profound sorrow and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Mr. Joseph Mwangi Njoya, who entered eternal rest on June 13, 2026, in Mombasa, Kenya.
He was the beloved son of the late Amos Mwangi Waweru and the late Esther Wambui; a devoted husband of the late Leah Njeri; and cherished father of John Kangi (late), Eng. David Ndibui, Faith Macharia, and Dr. Catherine Waithira.
Father-in-law of Nancy Gakonyo Njoya (late), Patrick Nduati Macharia, and Serah Sidi Farrar-Njoya.
Grandfather of Martin Kiruka, Evelyn Njeri, Jessie Campbell (wife of Chris Campbell), Elsammar Waweru, Icharia Macharia, Nayla Njoya, Nathan Njoya, Natalie Njoya, and great-grandfather of Ellie Campbell.
He was the first African Town Treasurer of the Mombasa Municipal Council, the Founder of J.M. Njoya & Associates, Mombasa, a respected CPA, and was widely admired for his integrity, professionalism, excellence, and dedicated service to the community.
He was a dear brother, uncle, mentor, and friend to many. His life was marked by faith, humility, wisdom, and exemplary leadership.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at ACK Memorial Cathedral, Mombasa County, at 10:00 a.m.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at ACK St. Stephen’s Church, Mariaini, Kiharu, Murang’a County, at 10:00 a.m.
