GLADYS KAUNA MBOROKI (KAAKE)

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Gladys Kauna Mboroki (Kaake), who peacefully passed away on 19/06/2026 at Gracepark Hospital Meru. She was born in January 1930 in Nkiyanga’a, Igembe Central, Meru County, to the late Mr. and Mrs. M’Lingera.

Gladys was a beloved sister of Leone M’Ituiri, the late Florence Mwakithii, and the late Joanna Mwairi; a devoted wife of the late Joseph M’Mboroki; a devoted and loving mother of Sarah Muthoni, Phyllis Lyria, Jephither Kobia, Julius Mukiama, Juthia M’Iluria, among others; and a cherished mother-in-law of Edward Lyria, Eunice Kangai, and others.

Kaake was a proud and loving grandmother of David Mwenda, Jonathan Mutuma, Michael Mutethia, Abigail Kendi, Favour Kaloina and Joshua Muteimbei, among many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also a treasured aunt to Zaborio Mutiuria, Kathure Mutiuria, and many other nieces and nephews.

Kaake will be remembered for her unwavering faith, kindness, wisdom, generosity and the love she shared with all who knew her.

Her legacy of compassion and dedication to family will continue to inspire generations to come.

The funeral cortege will leave Cool Breeze Funeral Home, Meru on 17/07/2026 for a funeral service at Mbaranga AIPCK Church and celebration of her life at Mbaranga Primary School, Tignia East, Meru County. Thereafter, she will be laid to rest at her home in Mbaranga Village.

Kaake, you are forever cherished, continue dancing with the angels until we meet again. Our sincere appreciation to: Dr. Mbatia and team at Gracepark, Meru; and Dr. Mutuku and team at Maua Methodist Hospital. We also extend our deepest gratitude to her nurse Mary Nkirote Karithi for her love, care, compassion and kindness.
