It is with profound sadness and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dr. Regina Nabwire Bwire of the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, School of Natural Sciences (SONAS) at Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology (MMUST) on Thursday, 27th August 2026 at the Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu after a long illness bravely borne.
She was the daughter of the late Mama Theresa Bwire and beloved wife of Dr. Michael Makokha Odera of Lifeworks Global (UK).
Mother of the late Donovan Bala Magero and Latricia Kutsatsu Makokha (Booker Academy).
The cortege will leave the Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary, Kisumu on Friday September 11, 2026 for a requiem Mass to be held at the Graduation Square at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) to be attended by the University Management, Faculty, Staff and Students starting promptly at 10:00 a.m.
The body will then be transferred to her residence in Koromatangi Estate for a brief stay and viewing by her neighbours thereafter the body will be transported to the Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church, Nangina for prayers and then at her home in Wakhungu, Samia Sub County, Busia County for an overnight stay.
She will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at her home.
