It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that the Deya Family announces the passing of Benito Charles Ochieng’ Deya, a businessman and former Administrator, University of Nairobi, Kisumu Branch, on 17th August 2026.
He was a loving husband of Lily Ochieng’ Deya and devoted father of Margaret Atieno Deya and Precious Njeri Deya.
Charles was the beloved son of the late Prof. B. P. Obuya Deya and the late Margaret Atieno Deya.
Cherished brother of the late Bob, Belinda, Elizabeth, Sarah, Felix and Ketrine.
Son-in-law of the late Sgt. Peter Francis O’mkoko and Mary Njeri O’mkoko.
The cortege leaves Kwee Funeral Home, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisumu, on Thursday, 10th September 2026 at 2:00 p.m. after a brief prayer, and proceeds to the ancestral home in Karachuonyo for an overnight vigil.
