It is with a heavy heart, pain and profound sorrow that the Central Organization of Trade Unions, COTU-KENYA Secretary General announces the passing of our Treasurer General and General Secretary KUDHEIHA WORKERS Bro. Albert Njeru Obed which occurred on Saturday, 29th August 2026.
He was son of the late Obed Njagi and Lydia Obed.
Husband of Nancy Njeru and Mercy Njeru.
Brother of late Moffat Njeru, Elias Mugendi, late Julius Murithi, David Mwaniki, late Moses Kivuti and Peter Karani.
Doting father of Jacinta Njeru, Rachael Njeru, Dennis Njeru, Sylvia Njeru, George Kabui and Maureen Wanjiru.
He was blessed with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Condolences Book has been opened at COTU-K HQ, Solidarity Building, Digo Road, Gikomba.
A meeting of all Executive Board Members will be held today, Wednesday, 2nd September 2026 at the same venue to Eulogize our departed Colleague.
A requiem mass is scheduled for Monday, 7th September 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi and his body laid to rest on Tuesday, 8th September 2026 in Embu County.
