It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Professor Catherine W’awasi John Kitetu, which occurred on 12th July 2026.
Professor Catherine W’awasi John Kitetu was the beloved wife of Professor Jackson John Kitetu; loving mother of Angela Kitetu, Joshua & Esther Kitetu, Martin & Samantha Kitetu and Matthew Mwangangi; Grandmother of Mali, Kaya, Jasiri and Mumo Kitetu.
Cherished daughter of the late Alfred and the late Phelicia Mwatika. Daughter-in-law of the late David Kitetu Kimuli and Pricilla Koki Kitetu.
Sister of Johnstone Mwatika and Mercy Wangari, Elizabeth Mwachofi and Charles Otunga, Manuel Mwatika and Beverly Malemba, Jane Mwatika, Jack Mwatika and Phyllis Njeri, the late Mwabili Mwatika and Esther Wanjiiru, Dashon and Rachel Kinguru, Hudson and Christine Mwatika, Hannah and Eng. Simon Njuguna.
Sister-in-law of Joseph and Florence Kipsang, Felix and Agnes Kangata, Justus and Phyllis Makau, Jonathan and Josephine Mwanzia, Steve and Doris Munga, Samuel and Juliana Muange, Nicholas and the late Dr. Ruth Mutwenege, Geoffrey and Bona Kimeu and Josphat and Sylvia Kioko; aunt, cousin, relative, and friend to many.
Family, relatives, friends, and well-wishers are meeting for prayers and funeral arrangements at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday 16th July, Tuesday 21st July and Wednesday 22nd July 2026 at 5:30pm.
The Memorial service will be held on Monday 20th July 2026 at AGC Lakeview Nakuru and Thursday 23rd July 2026 at AGC Karen Nairobi. More information to follow.
The funeral service will be held on Friday 24th July 2026 at Muumandu AIC Church, starting at 10:00 am, followed by burial at the Muumandu home, Machakos County.
