
It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Mwalimu Ezekiel Jonah Wala.
He hailed from Mwilonje, Ebusiloli, Emuhaya Constituency, Vihiga County and was the son of the late Jonah Isutsa and Elizabeth Amakove of Ebusiloli, Mwilonje, Emuhaya Constituency,Vihiga County.
Beloved husband of the late Reverend (Rtd) Christine Isutsa Wala.
Brother of the late Susan, Dinah, Nashon, Luke, Peninah and Mark, all of whom predeceased him.
Father of Julius and Ndunge Olinga (Kitale), the late Andrew and Marjorie Wafula (Nairobi), Joel and the late Joyce Ng’etich (Nairobi), Jonah (National Treasury) and Salome Wala (Kenya Airports Authority), Dr. Oliver (Family Dentistry) and Sarah Wala (Early Learning Montessori Centre), Martin and June Bingwa (both of Brookhouse Schools), Dr. Jonathan (CKS Dialysis and Kenyatta University) and Alice Wala (CKS Dialysis), Dr. Amakove Wala (Aspirant, Woman Representative Vihiga County 2027), and the late Benjamin and Lydia Wala (Lare Vision Seniour School, Njoro).
He was a loving father by extension to many, a cherished grandfather to 23 grandchildren, and a proud great-grandfather to 4 great-grandchildren.
The cortege leaves Masaba Hospital (St. Louise Funeral Home) on 25th June 2026.
A grand celebration of his impactful life will be held on 27th June 2026 at Mukhombe Primary School, after which he will be laid to rest at his beloved home in Mwilonje alongside his beloved wife, Reverend Christine Wala.
Relatives and friends are meeting daily at his home in Bunyore.
