It is with profound sorrow and acceptance that the Muchira family announces the passing away of the family matriarch mama Charity Wanjira Muchira at ACK Mt Kenya hospital, Kerugoya on Thursday, 9th April 2026 after a long illness bravely borne.
She was the wife of the late Michael Muchira Mbui and co-wife of late Agnes Watiri Muchira.
She was the daughter of late Peter Tumbo and Wanginda Tumbo She was mother of Josephine Mugo, Rose Muhoro, Jackson Mbui, Purity Mithamo, Ruth Mathai, Samuel Tumbo (Gachoki), late Lynne Njeri, Lemmy Thambu and Kelvin Kariuki and step-mother of late Violet Wanjau, Charles Mbui, Esther Mugo, Muraguri, Milton Kariuki, late Alex Karia, Alfred Munene (Irandu), Susan Wandia and Eddah Wairimu.
Mother-in-law of Patrick Mugo, Paul Muhoro, Margaret Mbui, Stella Mbui, Dickson Mithamo, and late Phillip Mathai.
She was a grandmother and great-grandmother of many all who she loved dearly.
She was a sister of late Wilson Thambu,Violet Guteta, late Michael Thambu, late Ngari Tumbo, Jennifer Wambura, Robinson Thambu, Patrick Simba, Kimani, Alice Mweru among many others.
Funeral committee meetings are going on at the family home, Mutige everyday.
The cortege leaves Kibugi Funeral Home, Kutus on Friday 17th April 2026 at 7.00am for church funeral and burial service at the family home in Mutige village, Kabare Ward, Gichugu,Kirinyaga County on the same day.
