It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Aphaxard Gitonga Mwiandi, former Deputy County Commissioner, which occurred on Sunday, 23rd August 2026.
He was the beloved husband of Jedidah Muthoni, devoted father of Victor Mwenda and Jane Kathomi, and father-in-law of Esther Musyoki.
Son of the late Ephantus Mururu and Jane Cianjoka.
The late former Deputy County Commissioner will be remembered for his 35 years of dedicated and impactful public service through which he served the nation with commitment, integrity and an unwavering sense of duty until his retirement.
Family relatives and friends are meeting daily for funeral arrangements and prayers at his home in Gakuuni Village, Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County.
The cortege will leave Lampedusa Funeral Home in Chuka on 3rd September 2026 at 9:00 a.m. for the funeral service at Chiku Factory and later laid to rest at his home.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
