It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mr. Sylvester Makhulo Onyango on Sunday, 3rd May, 2026.
Until his demise Mr. Makhulo was the Chairperson of the department of Geography, School of Arts and Social Sciences at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
He was the beloved husband of Maurine Kubai (Probation office Kakamega) and father of Ian Osieko (Ministry of Interior and National Administration), Bernice Mulama Akuku (U.K), Felix, and Mary Kimberly Makhulo (both of Hill School Kakamega).
Sylvester was beloved son of the late Mw. Joakim Onyango and Mary Electine Onyango.
Son in-law of Nicholas Kubayi and Leonida Anjeli, brother in-law of Karen, Gentrix and Benard.
He was brother of Protus, the late Celine, Fredrick, Divina & Godliver, Boniface, Pamela, Elizabeth, Vincent, Priscilla, Hon. Josphat Wandera, Patrick, Polycap, Humphrey, Mildred, Jackline, Janerose, and Janesandra.
Grandfather of Aylin Melania Della.
Uncle to Esther, Peris, Maurine, Winny, Collins, Nelly, Sarah, Marian, Nerius among others and cousin to Dr. Henry & Christopher Wanga, David, Peninah, Benjamin, John, Livingstone, Patricia, Ephraim & Silverio Wanjira.
He will be laid to Rest on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at his home in Elugulu, Butula Subcounty- Busia.
May His Soul Rest in eternal peace.
