It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Simon Gakui Maranga.
He was the beloved son of the late Maranga Kiruta and Wamuyu Maranga, son-in-law of the late Charles and Esther Waweru.
He was a loving husband of Florence Njoki Gakui. Loving father of James Maranga Gakui and Charles Waweru Gakui.
He was a father-in-law of Agnes Waweru and Betty Wangui. He was a cherished brother of Mr. and Mrs. Kiboko Maranga, Kinoe Maranga, Mr. and Mrs. Waikwaini Maranga.
He was a doting grandfather of Florence Njoki, Taraji Njoki, Victoria Wanjiku, and many others. He was a brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Gichuki, Mr. and Mrs. Kibuna, Mr. and Mrs. Macharia, and Ms. Naomi Nyakibia.
He was a loving uncle to Kibokos, Kinoes, Waikwainis, Gichukis, Kibunas, Macharias, Nyakibias, and many others.
Prayer gatherings are being held at the family residence in Nyeri-Kamakwa (Baraka Estate) every day at 4:00 pm and in Nairobi at All Saints Cathedral from 5:30 pm.
The requiem mass will be held on Wednesday from 4pm at the family residence in Kamakwa (Baraka Estate), Nyeri, followed by a candle-lighting ceremony.
Burial will take place on 17th July, 2026 from 9:00am, in Marua-Rukandu Village, Nyeri County.
