We regret to announce the death of Mama Rahel Nabalayo Waswa of Matisi Village, Bungoma County, who rested on 15th May 2026.
Daughter of the late Andrew Simiyu (Omusikula) and the late Phoebe Namaemba (Omubichu). Loving wife of the late Mzee Dishon Waswa (Omumwaya).
Mother of James Wanyama, the late Wellington Wabwoba, Christine Wanjala, Ben Simiyu, Priscillar Nafula, the late Joseph Situma, George Nyongesa, the late Jane Khakasa, Beatrice Nelima, the late Dennis Lusweti, Francis Sirengo and Samuel Wafula.
Mama Rahel was a beloved sister of the late Samuel Wafula, late Selina Nato, late Hosea Mulongo, Nathan Kutola, Ben Kinara, Rita Wangila, Ruth Barasa, Mark Sirengo, Kezia Mulongo, Eliud Sakari, Francis Sirengo, Beatrice Nabarefu, Ellam Wanjala, Alice Mukania, Grace Namulekhwa, among many others.
She also cherished her extended family and in-laws including the late Moses Watakila, Jack and Florence Wekesa, George and Anna Wekesa, Charles and the late Joy Muchimuti, the late Grace Khaemba, the late Sarah Wepukhulu, Peter Khaemba, Bishop Bushebi, Kezia Kakai and Charles Lusweti, among others.
She was a loving mother-in-law of Joseph, Everlyn, the late Ramadhani, Jackline, Susan, Everett, Mary, and Stella.
She was also blessed with many grandchildren including Joseph, Ranyama, Marlene, Kelvin, Anthony, Kiki, Virginia, Mohamed, Aziza, Sulea, Sophia, Alvin, Yvonne, Larry, Randy, Lamar, Janelle, Sheryl, C.J., Crisben, Judy, Diana, Samuel, Esther, Isaiah, Joyce, Delilah, Robert, Brenda, Brian, Vivian, Marlene, Daisy, Herina, Melissa, Julie, Kai, Belinda, Arun, Maryanne, Becky, the late Barbara among many others.
She was also a proud and loving great-grandmother to many.
The cortege leaves Delight Funeral Home on Friday 22nd May 2026 at 4.00pm for Matisi Home.
Burial service will be held on Saturday 23rd May 2026 at Matisi Village (Webuye–Bungoma Highway), Bungoma County.
