MWALIMU AMWINAMI WANYAMA MURUNGA

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mwalimu Amwinami Wanyama Murunga — a retired teacher who taught at various schools, including Kapsabet Boys High School and Umoja Secondary—which occurred at Fountain Hospital in Eldoret after a long illness.

He was born to the late Joseph Murunga and the late Elizabeth Wemaye.

He was the husband of Zippora Murunga and a loving father of Nato, Musa, Elizabeth, Lydia, Joseph, and Toywa.

He was a father-in-law of Hadley, Sheila, Humphrey, Johannes, Edna, and Margaret, and a cherished grandfather of Praise, Charlotte, Casper, Clarice, Matthew, Mark, Paul, Debra,Timothy, Jean, Jayden, Jessie,Trinity,Trizah, Sienna, and Skylar.

He was a brother of Selina, the late Khisa, Wekesa, Wanyonyi, Kwasundu, Khachika, Ndeso, the late Mtama, the late Mckenzie, the late Mweva, and the late Wakasa.

He was a brother-in-law of the late Rael, the late Mutesa, Tisa, Nanzala, Nekesa, Rhoda, and Agnes, among others.

He was an uncle of the late Phillip, Alex, the late Zacharia, Florence, Nekesa, Murunga, Musa, and Fridah, among others.

The funeral will be held at his Kilimani home in Turbo, Lukuyani Sub County, Kakamega County, on Friday, 8th May 2026.
