It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mrs. Lucia Wangui Thang’wa of Mitahato Village, Kimathi Sub-location, Ngewa Ward, Githunguri, Kiambu County.
Beloved wife of the late Mwalimu Stephen Thang’wa Kimani (SK).
Loving mother of the late Margaret Wanjiku, Paul Kimani (Kirigiti), the late Martin Wainaina, John Mbugua (Royal Media), Agnes Wanjiru (USA), Jacinta Njeri (Ndithiati), Peter Ndung’u (Lizie Preparatory School), George Kihara (Membley), Fr. Michael Thang’wa (King’eero Catholic Parish), Daniel Wanyoike (Mitahato), Annie Wambui (USA), Elizabeth Wangui (Githunguri) and Hon. Senator.

Sister of Hannah Nyambura Wachira (Gatundu), Beatrice Wanjiku Ngiri (USA) and the late Maria Njeri Kinyanjui, the late Paul Karungo (PK) and the late Pius Kinyanjui.
She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily at her home in Mitahato Village at 4:00 pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The cortege will leave KU Referral Funeral Home (Bypass) on Monday, 16th March 2026 at 8:00 am.
The funeral service will take place on the same day at Mitahato Primary School Grounds at 11:00 am, followed by burial at her home in Mitahato Village, near Pink Roses Academy.
