It is with peace in our hearts and the comfort of God and His Word, that we announce the passing of our beloved Mercy Muthoni Gicheru, who transitioned to glory on Wednesday, 15th April 2026.
Mercy was the daughter of the late Geoffrey Mwangi Kiregu & the late Lillian Wangeci. She was the beloved wife of Isaac Gicheru Wanderi.
Mother of Daudi Wanderi, Daniel Kieme, Sammy Thuku and Joshua Kiregu.
She was mother-in-love of Wanjiku Wanderi, Pauline Wanjiru Kieme, Caroline Wambui Thuku, and Joanna Kabindi Kiregu.
She was the sister of Rose Njambi Munga, the late John Chrispine Kiregu, the late Peter Thuo, Isabella Njeri Gitau, Jimnah Gatai, and Samuel Gichengo.
She was the sister-in-law of Dr. Peter Munga Kahara, Charity Ngima Kiregu, Phylis Wanjiku Thuo, Joseph Gitau Githinji, Lucy Wangui Gatai, and Grace Wairimu Gichengo, Grace Waithera Mwangi, and Samuel Thuku Wanderi.
She was a loving and doting grandmother of Olive Neema, Eva Imani and Valerie Sifa Wanderi, Adiel Gicheru, Shine Makana, Nathaniel Njuguna and Mutoria Kieme, Jasmine Gathoni and Ethan Gicheru Thuku and Ruui Mercy, Theerema Naamara and Gicheru Rukiri Kiregu.
She was a loving aunt to many.
There will be a comfort meeting on Friday 17th April 2026, at ICC Nairobi on Mombasa Road, at 4:30pm, and on Sunday, 19th April 2026, at the Gicheru Family Home in Mavoko, from 3:00 pm.
The funeral will be held on Monday, 20th April 2026, at Ihiga-ini Village, Kangema, Muranga County.
The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home, at Kabati, at 8:30am.
