It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing on to glory of Mary Nyambura Gikuhi (popularly known as Nyina wa Kate) on the late evening of Wednesday 24th June 2026.
Daughter of the late Naftaly Ngunjiri and the late Nazalena Wairimu.
Sister of Violina Wangui, William Waruhiu, the late Peter Muchiri, Philip Mutahi, Lucy Njeri, Scolastica Njoki and Margaret Wacuka.
Beloved wife of the late Peter Gikuhi Ndegwa.
Loving mother of George and Sophia Ndegwa, Patrick Ngunjiri and the late Catherine Wangechi, John Mwangi, the late Catherine Wanjiru and Michael Waruhiu.
Grandmother and great-grandmother to many.
Daughter in law of the late Duncan Ndegwa Gikuhi and the late Catherine Wanjiru.
Funeral meetings and prayers are taking place daily from 4:00pm at her Mbogo-ini home, Mathira West Sub County, Nyeri County.
The cortege leaves Jamii Funeral Home on Friday 3rd July 2026 at 8:00am. Funeral mass and burial at her home in Mbogoini at 10:00am.
