It is with deep sorrow, yet with humble acceptance of the Lord’s will, that we announce the passing on of the late Mama Teresa Mmbone Obiri which occurred on 21st October 2025 at Eldoret Hospital after short illness.
She was the beloved wife of the late Cllr. Festo Malova Obiri of Bidii Ngazi Farm Kitale Trans Nzoia County.
She was the first daughter of the late Mzee Musa Kayere and late Mama Selina Kirima of Gavalagi Vihiga.
Sister of late Beatrice Etemesi, Elizabeth Mmboga, Prof Mwanje Enonda Benard Chabuga. Cousin of late Catherine Edalia Lena Kadiiza Joshua Mulanda Jackson among others.
Cherished mother of the late Chief Paul Obiri, Margaret Mutiso, late Prof. John Angoro, teacher Ann Madegwa, Philemon Hans Obiri, Peter Amiani Usa David Kivuli.
Mother-in-law of Mutiso, Madegwa Alice, Noele, Lena, Jane, Pamela. Grandmother of Sammy Denver, Monyi Sandra, Nimrod, Henry, Exant Festus Terence, Chris, Elyne, Nathan, Eslne, Marvin, Temina, Alex, Sally, Keith, Phillip, Josiah Melvin, Eugene,Tess among others.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, 31st October 2025 at Kitale Pentecostal Church Section 19 starting 11:00Am.
The burial will take place on Saturday 1st November 2025 at her home in Bidii Ngazi farm Kitale Trans-Nzoia County In preparation for her final send-off the funeral steering committee together with the family,invites friends and well-wishers to a fundraising (harambee) on Wednesday 29th October 2025 starting from 2:00pm.
