It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the death of Mama Periah Obonyo Ombati.

She was wife of the late Stanley Ombati Obegi. She was co-wife of Mama Naomi Nyatichi Ombati.

She was daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Obegi Maroko (Raimisiani), late Nyambuteri Kerubo, late Nyatuga Obegi, late Mokua Maroko (Morako), late Obwocha Maroko (Raimisiani), late Osiemo Maroko (Bogwendo), late Moraa, late Moragwa, late Ongige, late Mocheche, among others.

She was daughter of the late Mzee Chache Kemosi and late Mama Boyani Moraa.

Sister of the late Ondieki, Nyaoche, Nyasuguta, Nyarinda, Maina, Nyangau, and Nyamokami, and step-sister of Kerebi, late Chache, late Nyakenywa, and Ateka.

Late Mama Periah was mother of late Wof Onsumu, Dorica Gichora, Karen (USA), Mokaya, late Dr. Fred, Mokua (USA), Leakey, Josephine, and step-mother of late Ombogo, Rebecca, Webster Mokua, Tom, Nyanchama and Orina.

She was grandmother of Obare (USA), Kerubo, late Nyarinda, Moraa, Mercy (USA), Carol, Milkah, Mariana, Mwaniiki, Frank, Diana, Moragwa, Wof(s), Ongwenyi, Nyaboke (USA), Julius, Philip, Yvonne, Mendy, Annabell and Bruno among others.

She was great-grandmother of Benitah, Debra, Nancy, Periah, Samuel, Willis, Whitley, Ashleigh, Andrew, William, Hillary, Maurinus, Dellanie, Delicia, Patience, Shanice, Calvin, Conley, Trevor, Treeven, Trerice, Mokaya, Manuellah, Blake, Glenn, Steff, Adil, and Adila among others.

She was great-great-grandmother of Cairo and Amie.

Her body is lying at Inchunii Mortuary. It leaves on 3rd September and arrives at her home at Raimisiani village and Iranya SDA Church for body viewing and later to her other home at Isoge for overnight vigil. Mama Periah will be laid to rest at her home at Isoge, Nyamira County on 4th September 2026.
