It is with profound sadness, humility, and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mama Peninah Moraa Omwenga on 23rd September, 2026. She succumbed to injuries sustained after a road accident.
She was the loving wife of Jeremiah Omwenga Mokaya. Loving mother of Evans Mokaya (Nevas Africa Agency), Joyce Nyangara, Jerial Bosibori (USA), Lilian Nyaboe (KPLC), Lydia Nyanchama, and Peris Nyabate (USA).
Cherished grandmother of Zikomo, Bomani and Bwerani (Strathmore School), Cyrus, Victor, Nimrod, Emmy, Malachi, Iani, Mawe, Myra, and Zyair.
Mother-in-law of Maurene (MOH) Geoffrey, Erick (USA), Nahason, Philip, and Gilbert (USA). Cousin of the Nyakangos, Nyanchokas, and Sibwogas.
Family and friends are meeting daily at home, Nyangena Village, Ekerubo Sub-location, Esise Location, Borabu. The cortege will depart Kisii Teaching & Referral Hospital on 15th October, 2026 for an overnight vigil at her home. The interment will take place on 16th October, 2026.
Away from the body, at home with the Lord.
