It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the promotion to glory of Leakey Maina Kariuki which occurred on Tuesday 12th May 2026 after a long illness bravery borne.
Leakey was the son of Cyrus Kariuki (Wamuthungu) and Alice Njeri.
Beloved husband of Naomi Wanjiru Karoki Maina (Kapiti Dairies Ltd.). Dad of Tevin Kariuki Maina (Strathmore University).
Brother of Simon Wambugu and Mwai Kariuki.
Son in law of the late Benson Karoki and the late Hannah Wambui of Kiambu Mitahato.
Brother in law of Peninah Wairimu, James Waweru, Margaret Njeri, the late Edith Wangui, Mary Waithira, Alice & the late Francis Wanyoike, Joyce Wanjiku, Esther Njoki and George Nganga.
Uncle of Wambui & Chege, Maureen, Victor & Ian, Christine & Lewis, Bravin, Ann & Alex, Wangui & Kariuki.
Friends and Family are meeting for prayers on Thursday 14th May 2026 and Friday 15th May 2026 at All Saints Cathedral at 5.30pm and on Monday 18th May 2026 at Maina’s Residence in Syokimau and on Tuesday 19th May 2026 at PCEA Nairobi West Church at 5.30 p.m.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday 17th May 2026 at P. C.E.A Nairobi West Church at 3.00pm.
The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Mortuary, Thika Rd on Thursday 21st May 2026 at 6.30 am for funeral and burial at Kirinyaga county.
