It is with humble acceptance of God’s will and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Ng’uono Auma Odeny, which occurred on 15 th August 2025 at Aga Khan Hospital Kisumu.
She was the cherished daughter of Mama Tabitha Aloo Auma and Prof. Elmada Auma Odeny.
Granddaughter of the late Mzee Walter Odeny, and the late Mama Julia Odeny, and the late Hon.Dr. William Odongo Omamo, E.G.H. and Mama Joyce Omamo.
Loving mother of Tabitha Zawadi Manirakiza.
Sister of Walter Caesar Were Auma (USA) and William Oyange Auma.
Sister-in-law of Mercy Mukasha Auma and Brenda Getuno Auma.
Niece of Dr. Jackton Onunga Odeny (Scotland), the late Christabel Sana, the late Meshack Otieno Odeny, the late George Ogindo Odeny, the late Jane Atieno, Elizabeth Adongo Okeyo, Dr. David Odhiambo Odeny, Dr. Pheobe Ayugi Josiah, Dr. Chimmy Omamo-Olende, Hellen Omamo-Gomaz, Ruth Theddesia Ngobi, Senior Counsel Raychelle Awuor Omamo, Dr. Steven Were Omamo, Phillip Rodi Omamo, William Osewe Omamo, Tomas Ogombe Omamo, Dr. Rachel Nyayo Omamo, Susan Owenga Omamo, Jack Ojoo Omamo, Dr. Elizabeth Anyango Omamo, John Robert Ang’awa Omamo, Andrea Omamo and among others.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and burial arrangements at her home in Rabuor, Mitimbili area in Kisumu County from 4:00 pm.
There will be a requiem mass at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Kisumu on Friday 29th August 2025 at 2:00 pm.
The funeral and burial service will take place at the family home in Rabuor, Mitimbili on Saturday 30 th August 2025.
