
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Henry Avula Inyagwa, who departed this life on Monday June 1, 2026, at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta, GA after a long illness bravely borne.
Henry was a caring and loving husband of Marlene Bulimu Inyagwa and a proud, adoring father of Natalie Adega Inyagwa and Caroline Anyoso Inyagwa.
He was the cherished son of the late Jotham Nyadenya Inyagwa and Mama Respah Adega Inyagwa.
He was a beloved brother of Bernard, Charles, Patrick, Alex, the late Joyce, Florence, Rose and Arthur Inyagwa.
He was a treasured brother-in-law of Naomi, Margaret, Roselyne, Viva, the late Limanye, Joseph, Isaac, Nicole, and the Bulimu family – Margaret, Jane Beth, Dorothy, Nelly, Winnie, Heather, the late Teddy, Douglas and Mercy.
He was the beloved son-in-law of the late Laban Bulimu Adira and Erika Kageha Bulimu.
He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom will deeply miss his kindness, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering love.
Henry’s life was a testament to faith, resilience, compassion, and devotion to family.
He touched countless lives through his warmth, humility, strength of character, and steadfast commitment to those he loved.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are meeting in both USA and Mahanga-Vihiga County homes for arrangements and prayers daily.
There will be a memorial service in Georgia-Atlanta USA on Saturday 20th June, 2026.
The body will be flown back to Kenya on 23rd June 2026 and Arrive in Nairobi and proceed to Kisumu International Airport on 26th where it will be picked and proceed to Keyonzo Village- Mahanga Home for overnight state vigil.
Celebration of his life will take place on Saturday 27th June, 2026 from 9.00am. at Keyonzo Village- Mahanga Location-Vihiga County.
