We announce the promotion to glory of Esther Wairimu Muthaiga, born in 1926 in Nyakianga Village, Njumbi Sub-location, Njumbi Location, Mathioya Sub-county, Murang’a County, who rested on 8th October, 2026, aged over 100 years.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Mwangi Maina and the late Jane Wanjiru Maina. Sister of John Mwangi, Kamau Muthungu and Sarah Wambui.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Muthaiga Mugo, and mother of the late Penina Waceke and Arthur Kimani; Jane Wanjiru and the late Joseph Muthamia; Rosemary Wangari and the late Jackson Kaniaru; the late Zablon Mwangi Muthaiga and Nancy Njoki; George Nduati and Sarah Wambui. Step-mother of the late Penina Waceke, the late Zablon Mwangi (Cowboy), the late Enos Muchoria and the late Benson Kiiiru.
A cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and a life well lived.
She will be laid to rest on Thursday, 15th October, 2026. The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home, Kabati, at 8:00a.m.The funeral and celebration service will be held at ACK St. James Nguu Parish, Mathioya, at 10.00a.m. followed by the burial at the family home in Nguu Village, Njumbi.
