It is with sorrow, a deep sense of loss and a humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Esther Ncuguni Murithi, née Ngaine, of Karen, Nairobi, who entered into rest after a valiant battle with illness in her 84th year.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Ngaine and the late Tabitha Ngaine.
She is survived by her cherished husband Jeremiah Kaugu Murithi, her loving sons Timothy Kimathi Murithi, Victor Mutwiri and daughters-in-law Bonnie Berkowitz, Christine Wangari, and Nicola Munene.
She was a devoted mother of the late Munene Murithi and the late Sara Kinya Murithi.
Beloved grandmother of Jeremy Mugambi Munene, Makena Esther Murithi, Lyra Esther Murithi- Berkowitz, Davin Kimathi Mutwiri and Aden Gatheca Mutwiri.
Loving sister of the late Samuel Gichuru, Jemimah Ngaine, Joseph Njeru, Charity Muriuki, Jessica Mbaya, Sylvia Mugambi.
Sister-in-law of late Gideon Mwobobia, late John Kirimi, late Harriet Murungi, late Jacob Mwirigi, Eng. Erastus Mwongera, Alice Mitine, a treasured auntie and grand-auntie of Ngaine’s and Kabwi’s.
Memorial service will be held at CITAM Karen on Tuesday 23rd June 2026, at 2pm.
Funeral will be held in Meru on Friday 26th June 2026. Burial preparation meetings are being held at the Murithi’s residence in Karen.
