It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely death of Edward Mungaya Imbayi an employee of Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) which occurred on 5th July, 2026 after a short illness.
Beloved and devoted husband of Lilian Namusende and father of Florence Asiji (Moi University, Eldoret), Bilgates Sava (Bukura Agricultural College), Neville Junior and Rodney Ikutwa (both of Kapsogoro Junior Secondary).
He was son of the late Mark Sava Imbaya and Jael Imbayi. Brother of Kennedy, Wycliffe, Pauline, Leah, Mercy, Elizabeth, Caro, Rose, Nelly, Purity.
Son in law of late Julius Namusende and the late Theresina. Brother in law of Musonye Jeff, Robert, Meddy, Milly, Ann and Basy. Cousin of Edith, Martin, Denis, Casper among others. Uncle, nephew and friend to many.
Edward hails from Senende village, Hamisi sub county, Vihiga county.
The cortège leaves Kaimosi Jumuia Funeral Home on Thursday 16th July, 2026.
The funeral service and burial will take place at his home in Kapsogoro, Hamisi Sub County on Saturday 18th July, 2026.
He leaves behind his loving wife, children, siblings, relatives, and many friends who will greatly miss him.
