It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Edith Gatune, which occurred on 2nd October 2026.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Julius M’Gitonga Nturibi and Assenath Karea M’Gitonga. Married to the late Alexander M’Itonga M’Ngaaine and co-wife of Doris Kaari M’Itonga.

Mother-in-law of late Phyllis Kariigi and Eliphas Mwebia, Festus Kaburu (Rev) & Alice Gatune, Mary Kaju & Julius Mwebia, Elas Kithaura & Mercy Karimi, Joyce Kamwari & Morris Njagi, late End Kiranju & Evans Kithinji, Patrick Kimathi & Caroline Wangari, Fiorah Kaguthi & Nicholas Nyaga and Douglas Mugambi & Elizabeth Wangui.

Sister of Enid Cirindi Mugungo, late Barine M’Gitonga, Margaret Wanja Muguna, Evangeline Kagigi Marangu, late Bilhah Kanini Nkabu, Janet Nkuene Murangiri and Step Sister of late M’Arith M’Gitonga.

Step-mother of David Gichuru & Kellen Karimi, late Stephen Kiruja & late Kanini, late Anne Kawira & Mwiti, Jasper Muternebi & Wateu, Jane Ruguru & Njeri, Jackline Ciomba & Nyamu, late Rufas Murimi, Idah Karugi & Ngotho and Samuel Murithi.

Grandmother and great grandmother to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at PCEA St. Andrews Church, Nairobi and Muchogomo Village, Muchogomo Sublocation, Karia Location, Igoji Division – South Imenti.

The cortege will leave PCEA Chogoria Hospital Mortuary (Funeral Home) on Friday, 9th October 2026, for a funeral and burial service at Muchogomo Village, Muchogomo Sublocation, Karia Location, Igoji Division – South Imenti.
