It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Dr. Leonard Kiprop Mutai, Director of Medical Services, Bomet County, which occurred on Friday 2nd October 2026.
Dr. Leonard was the beloved son of Anne Chemutai Lang’at and Peter Kimutai Lang’at. He was the loving husband of Purity Mutheu. Father of Reagan Kiber – Kabarak High School and Imani Chepchumba – St Mary’s Girls Bomet. Brother of Willy Mutai, Angela Cherotich Rotich, Betsy Chepkemoi Lang’at and Joan Chepkoech Lang’at.
Son-in-law of Francis Mwanza and the late Monicah Mwanza of Kalama location Machakos County. Brother-in-law of Maurene Ikindu, Robert Rotich, Tony Boreh, Clarise Mwanza, Domitilla Mwanza, Nelson Mwanza, Sebastian Mwanza, Caxton and Brian Mwanza.
He was a loving uncle of Bryson, Lauryn, Kristan, Imani Chelangat, Giovanni, Kiptoo, Kipchumba, Trevor, Ariana Cherop, Zoey, Gibson Cedrik Wavinya Mutindi, Mumo, Nancy and Max. He was a cousin and a friend to many.
Friends and relatives are meeting daily at the family home in Kelonget Village, Bomet County for funeral arrangements and to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy.
A requiem mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Parish, Bomet, on Friday 9th 2026, followed by an overnight vigil at home. Leonard will be laid to rest on 10th October 2026 at Kelonget Village, Bomet County.
