Mr. Barak Kipkorir Chepkwony

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Mr. Barak Kipkorir Chepkwony, of Kabarnet Town, Baringo Central Sub-County, Baringo County, which occurred on 27th April 2026.

Barak was a loving and devoted husband to Mrs. Grace Chebet Chepkwony and a caring father to Samuel Kiptoo Chepkwony (Nairobi), Faith Chepkemoi Chepkwony (Eldoret), and Daniel Kiprotich Chepkwony (Egerton University). He was a proud grandfather to Micah Kiptoo and Talia Chepkemoi, whom he cherished deeply. Barak loved his saxophone, and he would sing for his grandchildren every time they came to visit.

He was the beloved son of the late Mzee Jonathan Chepkwony arap Kipkorir and the late Mama Esther Chebet Chepkwony of Baringo County. Barak was a dear brother to Benjamin Kipchumba, Ruth Chebet, the late Josephat Kiprono, and Rebecca Chepkirui.

He was a respected uncle, cousin, and friend to many, fondly remembered for his humility, wisdom, and dedication to his family and community. Barak was a long-serving civil servant in Baringo County, where he contributed immensely to local development initiatives and mentorship of young professionals.

He was also a committed member of AIC Church, where he served faithfully in the church leadership and men’s fellowship.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his residence in Kabarnet Town and in Nairobi (South B Estate) for prayers and funeral arrangements.

Funeral Arrangements

The body is lying at Kabarnet County Referral Hospital Mortuary.

The cortege will leave the mortuary on Wednesday, 13th May 2026, at 9:30 a.m. for a funeral service at AIC Church.

Thereafter, burial and thanksgiving service will follow at the family home in Kabarnet Town, Baringo Central Sub-County.
