It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Elizabeth Njoki Mugwe which occurred on 13 th September 2025.
Elizabeth was daughter of the late Macharia Kanjira and Gathoni Macharia of Muranga County, Kihuro Sub-county, Gathamba location, Gatheru sub location, Gatheru Village.
She was sister of Beatrice Mugure Muraguri of Katarina.
She was the beloved mother of Mwathi (Eastleigh), Jennifer Mbatia (Umoja), the late Nelius, Grace (Eastleigh), Pastor Idah Mwangi, (Ruiru), Macharia Mugwe (ES KNUT, Nairobi Branch), Njeri Kamau (Kiambu High), Pastor Beatrice (Deliverance Church), Loise (Mombasa), Emily (Kiserean).
She was the mother-in-law of Ann Mwathi, Ephantus Mbatia, the late John Mwangi, Peter Kamau, Ann Njeri Macharia, Pastor Lazarus Gitonga and James Kinuthia Irungu.
Elizabeth Njoki was a loving aunt of Murage, the late Macharia, Mwaniki, Muthoni, Nduta, Mwangi, Wangeci, Maina and Machaga.
She was a grandmother of 20 grandchildren and was honoured to see 11 of her great grandchildren.
The cortege leaves Kenyatta University funeral home (Thika road) on 24th September 2025 at 7.00am for the funeral service at Gatheru Trinity Church- Murang’a at 11:00am.
