It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the untimely passing of Captain Francis (Charles) Ruto Langat of Flex Aviation, Wilson Airport, following a tragic plane crash in Juba, South Sudan, on 27th April 2026.
He was the beloved son of the late Mr.and Mrs. Peter and Dora Soi (Chai) of Kabianga, Belgut Sub County, Kericho and son in law of the late Rev. Joel and Loise Chepkwony of Sotik Sub County, Bomet.
Loving husband of Martha Langat. He was a dear brother of Esther, Edward, Edmond, Alice, Mary, late Betty, Mercy, Geoffrey and Fredrick.
Devoted father of Joyce Langat (KNH), Florence Cherotich (Avion Dynamics), Felix Bett (Kuwait), Nicholas Bett ( Wilson Airport), Dr. Daisy Langat (JOOTRH), and Jerome Kiptoo (Golden Eagle Schools).
Father in law of Julius Melli. Proud grandfather of Tiffany Melli, Travis Melli, Trevor Melli, and Angela Bett. A cherished uncle to many.
Funeral arrangement meetings are currently ongoing at the family home in Kitengela, Nairobi.
There will be a memorial service on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 at Montezuma Chapel from 1:30pm to 2:30pm.
The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home for Bomet on Wednesday 24th June 2026 by road then an overnight stay in his Chebole home in Bomet County.
Burial is on Thursday 25th June 2026 at his home in Chebole, Kipsonoi Ward, Sotik Sub County in Bomet County.
