It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of FCPA Joseph Owuor Yamo, who departed this life on 4th June 2026 while receiving medical care at Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Nairobi.
Born to the late Mzee Martin Yamo and the late Mama Beatrice Keta. A distinguished public servant and accomplished finance professional and served in different ministries of the Government of Kenya.
Alongside his governmental duties, he was a committed leader in the cooperative movement and served as Supervisory Director at Harambee Sacco, championing accountability, transparency, and member-focused leadership.
His professionalism, leadership, and commitment earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
He was a loving husband of Susan Akinyi Owuor, Beatrice Achieng’ and Sharon Awuor Owuor and a devoted father of Bernard, Millicent, Beryl, Ivy, Adrian, Stacy, Nael Shantel, Eugene, Lainey Keta, Lesley, Nyssa, and Ezekiel.
He was a proud grandfather of Liz, Esther, Valen, and Mark.
Joseph was son-in-law of the late Simon Omondi and Regina Omondi of Siranga, Ugenya, and the late Peter Nyamori and Pamela Nyamori of Kolwa, Kano East.
He was brother of Benta Atieno and Alice Awino, and was predeceased by his sisters Consolata Amollo and Rosemary Akoth.
He was also a cherished uncle of Evans, Viona, Kevin, Dereck, Denis, Mercy, and many other nephews and nieces.
