It is with humble acceptance of God’s divine will that we announce the passing on of our beloved patriarch Mr John Thuku Watuthu which occurred on 25th May 2026. He was the proprietor of Joycot General Contractors, Geocast Surveyors and Double Vision Nyahururu.
Son of the late Eliud Watuthu and the late Mary Wamahiga.
Step son of Eunice Waitherero. He was a loving husband of Lucy Waithira Thuku.
He is survived by his children Anthony and Faith Ndiritu, Sharon Wamahiga, Brian Nderitu, Frank Kimita and Harriet Wanjeri.
Beloved brother of the late Charles Ndung’u, Revd. Helen Nyaguthii, Elder Joseph Ndiang’ui, Grace Wanjiru, Eunice Wangui, Joel Rukwaro, Alice Wanjira and David Muriithii.
Step brother of Elder Ibrahim Maina, Grace Muthoni, the late Patrick Ndung’u, Hellen Nyaguthii, Mary Wangeci and Naomi Wangui.
Brother in law of the late Margaret Ndung’u, Edward Mathenge, Mary Ndiang’ui, Joseph Karinga, Godfrey Maina, Reuben Mwaniki, Jane Rukwaro, Jennifer Rukwaro, Mercy Mumbi, Esther Maina, Muturi, Joseph, Josephine, Augustine and Njenga, the late Josphine Gachoka, the late Stephen Kamau, Alfred Warui, Ann Nyambura and Keziah Wanjiru.
Grandfather of Peggy Ndiritu, Robby Thuku and Chiyenah Waithira.

Family and Friends are meeting daily in Nyahururu at Breeze Hotel from 6:00pm, All Saints Cathedral Nairobi on 28th May and 29th May from 5:00pm and at his home (Asian Quarters Nyahururu) for prayers and funeral arrangements starting from 4:00pm.
The cortège will leave Pope Benedict Funeral Home Nyahururu on 1st June 2026 at 8:00am for Funeral Service at Chakareli Primary School, Oljoro-orok starting from 10:00am and thereafter he will be laid to rest at his Chakareli Farm, Nyandarua County.
