It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Jimmy Maina Waweru (Kiawega), on 11th May 2026.
He was the son of the late John Waweru Macharia and Millicent Wairimu (Wagitheri) of Maragua.
Beloved husband of Joyce Gathoni.
Adoring dad of Derrick Waweru and Alvin Gachuhi.
Brother of Mary Kaniaru, Carolyn Kamau, Shellmith Wanjiru and Christopher Macharia. Son in-law of Hiram Gachuhi and Kellen Njoki.
Brother in-law of John Kaniaru, Amos Kamau, Nahashon & the late Lucy Muraguri, Agnes Nyathiomi, the late Morris Kahia, Alex Kariuki and Charles & Anna Thigu.
He was a cousin, uncle and nephew to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at ACK St Paul’s Church South C (along Mai Mahiu Road opp. Moi Educational Center) and at his Mother’s home in Maragua, Millimani Estate from 5.30pm.
There will be a memorial service on Friday 15th May 2026 at New Hope Outreach Ministries in Madaraka Estate, Nairobi, near Strathmore University starting 2.00pm.
Burial will take place on Tuesday, 19th May in Maragwa, Murang’a County.
The cortege will leave Montenzuma Funeral Home (Kabati) along Thika Road at 7.30am, followed by a funeral service at Maragwa Primary School.
