It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Stephen M’itonga M’ituruchiu on 1st May 2026.
He hailed from Abonjeru Village, Kariene sub-location in Abothuguchi Central ward, Central Imenti Constituency, Meru County.
He was a son of the late M’Ituruchiu and the late Maria Nthang’a. He was brother of Ziporah Karegi.
He was married to the late Evangeline Tirindi and Grace Kanyai. He was blessed with the following children:
The late Anastacia Kaimuri, Regina Maithekia, Samson Mutwiri, the late Stanley Mburugu, Julius Kinyua, Prisca Kajuju, Dr. (Eng.) Charles Mwirigi, Eng. James Mbaabu, Teresia Regeria, Gladys Teei, Lucy Mwiti, Patrick Gikunda, Doris Muriungi, Josphine Wanja and Purity Kirumpa.
He was the father in-law of the late Riungu, Mwebia, Ngugi Mutwiri, Mercy Kinyua, late Kithinji, Stellah Mwirigi, Monica Mbaabu, Henry, Mwiti, Doreen Gikunda, Muriungi, Munene and Mwenda.
He was uncle of the late Murungi, Past. Kithinji, Ngwiri, Kiminya, the late Kinoti and the late Peter.
He had forty-two (42) Grandchildren, thirty-five (35) great grandchildren and one (1) great grand child.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday 9th May 2026 at his Home Abonjeru village.
The cortège leaves Consolata Hospital Nkubu Mortuary same day at 8.00 am and proceed for funeral service at St. Ann Kariene Catholic Church at 10.00 am.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV) states: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
