It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Florence Wanjiku Waweru, fondly known as Pastor Sheeks/Shiku.
Florence passed away on the 29th of April 2026 at Nairobi Hospital, after a short illness.
She was the beloved wife of Joel Maluki and a devoted mother of Baby Nathaniel Judah Maluki. Loving daughter of Gabriel W. Wainaina of Mugo Waweru & Associates and Elder Grace Waweru. Cherished sister of Dr.Suzanne and Sammy Njoroge, and Alex Wainaina.
Daughter-in-law of James and Rose Munywoki.
Florence was a dedicated servant of God and a pastor at Mavuno Church Lavington, a role she carried with deep passion, grace, and commitment to building strong families.
Florence will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her warmth, her authenticity, and her deep love for people. She touched many lives through her service, mentorship, and friendship.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 5th May 2026 at Nairobi Chapel Ngong Road at 11.00 am.
The funeral service will be held at Cardinal John Njue Pastoral Centre Embu on Thursday 7th May at 11.00 am and thereafter interment at the family home at Gatituri, Embu.
