It is with deep sorrow that the Senior Leadership Team and all staff of Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) announce the sudden passing of our colleague and friend, Anthony Njogu Nguyo, who died on April 30th, 2026, following injuries sustained in a tragic road accident along Thika Road.
Anthony was a Software Engineer based at our Headquarters in Gigiri, Nairobi.
He served the organization with dedication for six years. He will be remembered for his professionalism, hard work, and friendship.
We extend our sincere condolences to his parents, Mr. Gabriel Nguyo and Ms. Esther Waithira, and his brothers, Joseph and Francis Nguyo, as well as the entire family. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at Our Lady of Divine Providence Church in Nanyuki, followed by interment at the family home.
Anthony, you are deeply missed and will remain in our hearts always.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
