It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Stephen Kaniaru Gathuma, of Biricha Village, Nyeri, which occurred on the morning of 23rd October, 2025.
He was the son of the late John Gathuma Njuguna and the late Mariam Wanjiku. He was a devoted husband of Jedida Wanjiru.
Doting father of Anthony Mwangi & Rebecca Nyokabi, Jane Wanjiku & Patrick Munuhe, Cyrus Ndungu & Cecilia Wambui, Lucy Wambui & Jackson Mwangi, Zakayo Kabuthu & Gladys Nyawira, Wilson Kanyoi & Irene Njoki, Miriam Nyawira, and Bernard Mwaniki & Caroline Kirinto.
He was the son-in-law of the late Zakayo Kabuthu and the late Hannah Wambui Kabuthu.
Loving grandfather of Jackline, Denis, Donald, Catherine, Daniel, Steve, Jedidah, Carol, Esther, Cyrus, June, Collins, Jedidah, Shanice, Steve, Jasmine, Amy, Kingsley and Chloe.
He was also a great grandfather of Tatiana, Chloe and Livia.
He was a brother, brother-in-law, cousin and uncle to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily at his Biricha home at 3.00pm and at PCEA Kayole Church (Nairobi) from 6.30pm.
The cortege leaves Outspan Funeral Home Nyeri on Friday, 31st October, 2025 at 8:00am for a funeral service at 10.30am in Biricha 1 Village (near Kiawara), Gatarakwa Location, Kieni West Sub County, Nyeri County. Burial will take place thereafter at the same place.
