It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Eng. Charles Wangila Masinde on 8th October 2026.

Beloved son of the late Erasto Masinde and the late Julia Masinde of Lugulu village, Webuye Sub-County, Bungoma County. Son in law of the late Rufus Tsuma and Melissa Mukoya Rufus.

Loving husband of Agnes Asiko Wangila. Devoted father of Drake Wafula, Cynthia Mmbone, Laurel Nasimiyu and Amyloy Muboka.

Brother of the late Joel Walucho, Dr. Eluid Masinde, the late Hellen Holli, Richard Majisu, the late Janet Khakiti, Joseph Ngaira and Pamela Wafula.

Brother-in-law of Dorothy Masinde, Enos Holi, Respar Silsbya, Maurene Mwende and Eric Wafula, Samuel Tsuma, the late Abner Tsuma, the late Rachel Tsuma, Eunice Nyambura, Sarah Awinja, Rose Aseka Mutete & Ronald Indimuli.

Father-in-law of Rosemary Muthio Matulai, Rev Peter Nzimbi, Mathew Mutuku and Alex Obuhotsa.

Doting grandfather of Dorian, Todah, Christian, Rason, Gabian, Matzan, Kian, Ariella and Aniyah. Great-grandfather of Xerxes.

Family and friends are meeting daily at their home in Lugulu. Meetings are taking place in Nairobi at ACK All Saints Cathedral at 5:30pm on Monday 12th October 2026. A fundraiser will take place on Wednesday 14th October 2026 at All Saints and Lugulu. The cortege leaves Delights Funeral Home, Ndengelwa, on Friday for an overnight vigil at home. A requiem service will take place at 10am on Saturday, 17th October 2026 at Lugulu Mixed Primary School. Thereafter, a private burial will be held at the Family home in Lugulu.
