It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Ben Nyambariga Sakawa, who passed away at Nairobi Hospital after a long illness, bravely borne.
He was born on 3rd February 1968 to the late John Sakawa and Marcella Sakawa.
He was the beloved husband of Jackline Ben and son-in-law of the late John Moochi and the late Mama Yufensia Moochi.
He was a loving father of Lynn Wambui (Nairobi), Stacy Moraa (Canada), Adams Gwaro (USA), Anita Kemunto, Alvin Moochi (UK), and Ashley Vanessa Moochi.
He was a brother of Nancy Mamwacha (USA), Mogire, Joshua, the late Lucy, Boaz, Albert, Alexander, Gechemba, and Robinson.
He was uncle of Sarah, Ishmael, Moraa, Kwamboka (USA), Night, Viona (USA), Lizvette, Levis, Marren, Lucy, David, Nicy, Baraka, Mull, Manyil, Isaac, Rechal, Ednah, Asenath, Dorin, Sister Lydia, Damaris, Cliff, Corazon, Fiona, Debora, Janet, Delzy, Felix, Diana, John, Alan Joyce, and many others.
He was a nephew of the late Ongoro, Chris, Otiso, among others.
He was a brother-in-law of Hon. Charles Mamwacha Onchoke (MP, Bonchari Constituency), Beatrice, Dorcas, Nancy, Jackie (USA), Pauline, Eucabeth, Marko, Enock, Reuben, Evans, the late Lorna Sophie, Esther, Priscah, Stella and Judith, among others.
He was a cousin of Maggy, Kennedy, Mark (USA), Beatrice, Taphrosa (USA), Cyrus, Emmanuel, Jared, Alex (USA), Ibrahim, Kevin, Ronald, Hebson, Tom, Robert, Kwamboka, Christine, and Jessica, among others.
A mini-harambee will be held on 16th August 2026 at his residence in Ongata Rongai, Nkoroi. The main harambee will be held on 19th August 2026 at Holy Family Basilica, St. Paul’s Hall (Annex), 7th Floor.
The body will leave Lee Funeral Home on 27th August 2026 for a requiem Mass at Uhuru Highway Lutheran Church, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Thereafter, the cortege will proceed to his home in Ongata Rongai for an overnight stay.
The burial ceremony will take place on 28th August 2026 at his home in Nkoroi, Ongata Rongai.
