It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our beloved retired teacher, Esther Wangui Karanja, on 10th October 2026.
She was the beloved wife of Bishop Emeritus Samuel Karanja Kamau of PEFA Kiambu region and Senior Pastor Kigumo PEFA church. Daughter of the late Daniel Njiguna Matiru and Eunice Wanjerl Njiguna.
She was a loving mother of Serah Kariuki of Gachika Secondary school and Michael Kariuki, Commissioner of Police; the late Eunice Wanjerl Mugo and Dedan Mugo of Lemon Cake House; Lydia Wanjiru Karanja of Ruiru; Dr. Daniel Njiguna of IOVIA East Africa Ltd and Alice Njiguna of MoH Kiambu County; Eng. Simon Kamau of Griffin global tech and Anne Kamau.
She was the sister of the late Wilson Nganga Njiguna of Nakuru and the late James Matiru Njiguna of Githiga. She was an auntie, in-law, grandmother and great grandmother of many.
The funeral cortege will leave KU Referral Mortuary Kahawa West on Saturday, 17th October 2026 at 8:00am. The funeral service will be held at Githima Primary School ground, Komothai Sub-location, followed by a burial at Kanake Village, on Saturday, 17th October 2026.
