It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Elder Advocate Justus Okemwa Areba of Nairobi Central SDA Church, 5th Ngong Avenue, Nairobi, who passed away on 1st October 2026.
He was the beloved son of the late Joseph Areba Mogere and the late Florence Kerubo Areba of Keri, Nyamusi Sub-county, Nyamira County.
He was a loving husband of Rose Moraa, loving father of Joy Bochere (UK), Teddy Areba (UON) and adopted daughter Deborah Moraa. He was a dear brother of Charles (Omotoka), the late Ruth Kwamboka, Joyce Moraa (Adra River), Rebecca, Nyaboke, Onchiri, Omwenga (USA), and Mourine.
Funeral arrangements are ongoing at the family home in Kenyatta Village, Kisii; his Njoka home; and Woodvale Restaurant – 1st Floor at the Hala Hall, Galleria Exit, meeting daily from 4:00 p.m. A fundraising will be held on Tuesday, 6th October 2026, at Nairobi Central SDA Church – Maxwell, Old Sanctuary.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 7th October 2026, at New Life SDA Church, Nairobi. On Thursday, 8th October 2026, the cortege will proceed to the family home in Kisii. The burial ceremony will be held on Friday, 9th October 2026 at Nyandusi Stadium, Nyanuga followed by the final burial rites at the family home in Kenyatta Village, Kisii.
